Burnfield Celebrates National Care Home Open Day

Burnfield celebrated National Care Home Open Day on 16 June with a summer spectacular – ‘A Tribute To The Stars’.

Residents, family members and friends enjoyed musical and comic performances by staff from across the various departments at Burnfield.  Under the theme of Jewish artists and composers, our audience got the  ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ experience with performances by Al Jolson, Barry Manilow, Carole King, Frankie Vaughan, Bette Midler, Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond and many more.  Also stepping out from behind the gold curtain was a walk on comedy appearance from Groucho Marx.

At the interval refreshments & food platters were served, then it was back to the second half for more music entertainment. Everyone sang along to the familiar songs, enjoying a fun filled afternoon.
