Please note that the decision has been taken to ‘lock down’ our care homes. As a result relatives, visitors and suppliers will not be permitted access to either home, with immediate effect!
We are unable to accept any new admissions until further notice!
This difficult decision has been taken in light of Wednesday’s report that‘community transfer’ of the Covid-19 virus had taken place within the West of Scotland. Community transfer is a positive diagnosis that is ‘unrelated to contact or travel’. It is not possible to identify the source of such infections and therefore the spread of the virus will be difficult to contain or predict.
We regret having to make this decision without notice but you will understand that our priority is to maintain the health and well-being of our residents who are potentially at most risk.
The initial lock down period will run from this evening until 31st March. We are taking daily advice from NHS Scotland and shall be reviewing the situation on an ongoing basis.
Please rest assured that infection control measures are in place and our staff are taking every precaution to ensure that they do not carry any infection into the homes.
