Management & Staff

The day to day operation of the Home is the responsibility of Stuart McKay RMN, our Care Manager.   Stuart joined Newark Care in February 2024 and has deep knowledge and understanding of the social and health care needs of our elderly residents. Stuart is supported by our Deputy Manager Laura Miller, who has been a valued member of Westacre staff since 2008, as well as a team of Nurses, Senior Support Workers and Support Workers registered with the SSSC – all with various SVQ Level 2, 3 and 4 in Health & Social Care –  all delivering holistic, quality care round-the-clock. Over 70% of our care staff hold a formal qualification in Health & Social Care, considerably more than stipulated by the local authority.

The home is also complimented by qualified Catering Team, which does not only cook and serve a wide variety of high quality meals as per residents’ wishes but also have a clear understanding of every residents’ dietetic requirements.  Westacres have a dedicated Housekeeping Team and a full time Building and Maintenance Manager to ensure that the all of the homes facilities are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and are well maintained.

All staff receive training in Newark Care’s philosophy and values. Our arrangements for staff recruitment, training and supervision accord with the latest Government guidance and reflect best practice.
